Scott and Holly Gibson have been married for 30 years and have lived in Mason most of those years. They have been part of Rivers Crossing since 2017. They were both raised in the Christian church, growing up with a strong foundation of faith that has guided their lives, marriage, and family. They met while attending Cincinnati Christian University, where they both graduated, deepening their passion for ministry, service, and living a life centered on God’s purpose.

Scott has spent more than 20 years working in Senior Living, where his heart for serving others has shaped his career. His commitment to caring for others extends beyond his profession—Scott also serves the Mason community as an elected member of City Council and contributes his time and expertise as a board member for the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Holly was blessed to stay home and pour her heart into raising their six children—Cross-27, Sage-25 , Sailor- 23, Crayton-21, Crew-19, and Sable. Alongside her role as a mother, Holly serves on the Mason Parks Board and volunteers regularly within Mason City Schools, investing her time and energy into the people and places that have shaped their family’s life.

In 2019, the Gibson family experienced the unimaginable—the unexpected loss of their daughter, Sable. Walking through this season of deep grief, Scott and Holly clung to their faith in Jesus, finding hope, healing, and ultimately, purpose in the midst of heartbreak. Believing that God can bring beauty from ashes, they founded the Shine Like Sable Foundation, a ministry dedicated to honoring Sable’s life and continuing the legacy of joy, light, and kindness that she so naturally shared with the world.

The mission of Shine Like Sable is rooted in their faith and designed to be a tangible reflection of God’s love. Through acts of generosity, service, and compassion—both big and small—the foundation seeks to remind others that even in the darkest seasons, the light of Christ continues to shine. The Gibson family believes that when we show up for others, serve selflessly, and extend love, we become part of God’s bigger story of redemption and hope.

Today, Scott and Holly cherish time spent with their adult children and close friends. They enjoy long drives in their convertible, staying active together, and faithfully serving as greeters at Rivers Crossing. Whether through their foundation, their community roles, or simple daily interactions, their greatest desire is to live lives that point others to the goodness, faithfulness, and love of Jesus.
