In the Bible, Jesus said, “…I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly.”  Around here we call that the extraordinary life.  That extraordinary life began the moment you made a decision to follow Jesus and enter into a relationship with Him. But that is just the beginning. What’s Next?

This guide is designed to help you understand what God says about you and what steps you can take in your relationship with Jesus.

You probably still have questions about your decision. You may even have doubts. That’s ok! But don’t let those questions or doubts stop you from moving forward. It’s time press in and move on with the life God designed you for, it’s time to experience the extraordinary life!

God’s best,

Paul Taylor

Lead Pastor, Rivers Crossing

Along with all of humanity, you are created in the image and likeness of God and it’s always been His desire to be in a relationship you, however your failures and sin have created a barrier between you and a Holy God.

“But your sins have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that you will not hear.”  Isaiah 59:2

The good news you’ve discovered is that restoring your relationship with God is as easy as ABC.

A – Admit that your sins has caused you to fall short of God’s holy standard, that you cannot save yourself and you need a Savior.  (Romans 3:23)

B – Believe that God sent Jesus as Mankind’s only hope for salvation.  (John 3:16)

C – Choose to receive Jesus into your life, to place your faith in Him as your Savior and follow Him as your Leader.  (John 1:12)

As you’re discovering, God’s grace is amazing and we owe it all to Jesus!

Simply put, baptism is an outward display and celebration of your inward decision to trust Jesus with your eternity. It’s an act of obedience, a step of acknowledgment that is representative of the fact that Jesus died on the cross, was buried and walked out of the grave, alive, so each of us can have eternal life.

When you step into the water, you are letting the world know that you have walked into a new life of faith in Jesus Christ and that you are committing to follow him down a new path. If you’ve made the decision to follow Jesus, baptism is the next step in your spiritual journey.

“You will be his witness to all men of what you have seen and heard. And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.” Acts 22:15-16

When you chose to follow Jesus, you began a new journey. But, this journey wasn’t meant to be traveled alone. Christianity is not a solo sport. That’s why the local church exists. We invite you to pull up a chair to the table and join us!

Each week, when we gather together as a church, we unite to worship God, discover His plan for our lives, and learn how to follow Jesus daily.

“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another- and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25

Like any healthy relationship, your relationship with Jesus needs trust and communication to grow stronger. As you begin to understand how God sees you and what he wants for you, you will begin to experience the extraordinary life he promised. This begins daily through:

BELIEVING what God says in Scripture about his plans for you. He wants to use you to make a difference, but you must first understand who you are, whose you are, and what you have to offer!

Jesus himself said that he did not come to be served, but to serve others. When you volunteer your time and talent in the local church, you discover the key to unlocking a life of influence and change.

As a new Christ-follower, one of the most powerful steps you can take is serving in the church; it’s stepping outside of your comfort zone and stepping up to be used by God.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” Ephesians 2:10

Rivers Crossing was born from Pastor Paul’s desire to reach more people with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. It was his desire to lead a church where ordinary people like himself could pursue the extraordinary life found in Jesus.  Now that your beginning to experience that change in your own life, God wants to use you to reach others!

You may not know it, but God has supernaturally and strategically placed 8 to 15 people in your life that He wants you to share this life-changing message with.  Tell someone about the decision you recently made and start inviting your friends and family to church.

Download the 8 to 15 app from any App Store to help you be intentional about sharing the best news of your life!

One of the greatest blessing you can experience is through being generous.

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” Malachi 3:10

As you come to understand the gravity of God’s grace and respond with generosity, it won’t take you long to realize that when you give the first 10% of our income to His house, His blessings follows.  Not only this, but you will experience great joy is knowing that you’re helping pave the way for one more person to have their eternity changed.  Just like you!
