Illuminate 2018

Illuminate, the 2018 Women’s Conference at Rivers Crossing, is coming Saturday, March 10th. Join all ages of women from all over Cincinnati for a day of worship and teaching from IF Gathering founder and author, Jennie Allen.
As women, we all need a reason to slow down and rest. It’s easy to get caught up in the demands of being a wife or a mom or an employee and to forget that Jesus has called us to rest in Him and His word. This year’s women’s conference is the perfect day to do just that. Gather your sisters and your best friends and your daughters and get ready to be challenged, encouraged and refreshed to do the work God’s laid in front of you. We can’t wait to see all He’s going to do during this year’s women’s conference!

JENNIE ALLEN

Jennie is passionate about inspiring a new generation of women to encounter the invisible God. Raised in a Christian home, Jennie heard about God her entire life but not until high school did she see her need for Him. Since that time she has been teaching the women around her about God.

Jennie studied at the University of Arkansas for three years. She met and married Zac Allen and moved to Tennessee where she completed her B.S. in Communications at Carson Newman College. She and Zac later attended Dallas Theological Seminary at the same time. She graduated with a Masters in Biblical Studies in 2005.

In 2011, Jennie signed with Thomas Nelson and released her first DVD-based Bible study, Stuck: The Places We Get Stuck and the God Who Sets Us Free. The following year Chase: Chasing After the Heart of God was released along with her first trade book, Anything: The Prayer that Unlocked My God and My Soul. Anything recounts the journey into surrender that Jennie, her family, and her church have travelled. Jennie was given the 2013 Christian Book Award for “New Author” from the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association.

The journey of surrender continues in her latest book, Restless: Because You Were Made for More. Jennie helps women discover their unique calling through the life of Joseph and the threads of their passions, gifts, people, places and suffering. The Restless DVD-based Bible study released simultaneously with the book in January 2014.

Jennie is a Bible teacher marked by personal authenticity and vulnerability. She encourages women to go to these same places as they study scripture, wrestle with truth, and more fully live out their short time on this planet.

Through the stories of Anything and Restless, Jennie birthed IF:Gathering – gathering, equipping and unleashing the next generation to live out their purpose. IF:Gathering live streamed its first event from Austin, TX, and brought together over 150,000 women from more than 22 countries. Today, IF:Gathering continues to gather women online through a daily Bible study, IF:Equip.

Jennie and Zac have four children, Connor, Kate, Caroline and Cooper. As a true Texas family of rising stars it’s hard to imagine life revolving around anything other than the Friday night lights.

Bible Journaling with Sue Carroll

Bible art journaling begins with the process of prayerfully inviting the Holy Spirit to reveal truth as you study God’s Word. It is then creating a memorial to God and the place where He met with you. A lasting visual of truth and revelation. Sue Carroll is a Bible Journaler, artist and illustrator with a passion for sharing God’s Word with others. She is the author of The Bible Journaling Study:The Virtue of Contentment and teaches journaling across the country. Her heart is to encourage others; not only to make the process of journaling simple & fun, but to help women dig into God’s Holy Word and be changed. Come and see how easy it can be! In this session we will be creating a take home project using watercolor techniques, hand-lettering, and step by step doodles. You will receive a practice journal filled with lettering and doodle lessons, the 3,2,1 study method, and many free resources that will help you with the process of Bible Journaling. Guaranteed success, with Sue’s easy steps! You can find her instructional Doodles at 1Arthouse.blog

Parenting with Jen Powers

God has written all of our days before any one of them came to be. This means that before the foundations of the earth God purposed every kiddo under our roof to be in our care, whether adoptive, foster or bio. And He has meant for us to thrive as a family unit, instead of simply survive the day to day, moment to moment, in this beautifully complicated call to partner with Him to parent well. Parenting is a complex and precarious topic. How we were raised as a child impacts who we are now and how we care for our own kids today. We will never arrive at this on this side of heaven, but we long to normalize this call, hear your story, share some of ours and say loud and clear that it’s never too late. The story isn’t over yet. Whether you are looking for some real deal, faith, research & evidence based parenting techniques and/or be encouraged by scripture that you have what it takes to walk this out well, come…I’d love to meet you!

Orphan Care with Kim Rupert

This session is an overview of necessary life supports for all of those called to the challenging and sometimes isolating job of orphan care.  However God has asked (or is asking) you to play a part in what Scripture defines as true religion, it is imperative that you truly know what God’s Word has to say about this job.  He is passionate about these kids and our calling to parent them, and offers rich blessing in His Word to keep us alive and even JOYFUL during the journey.  You need a tribe to do this life well, the knowledge of resources and supports available, the fellowship of other Believers who get why you do this, and the confidence that God has got your back, too.

Marriage with Diane Zimmerman

Marriage: Whether you’ve been married two or twenty-two years or hoping to one day be married, it is always a good thing to have God shine the light of His Word on your life, specifically in your role as a wife. May we all desire His illumination in areas in which we are thriving and in areas in which we are just surviving. Join Diane as she shares God’s Word regarding specific areas of marriage, encouraging us all to reflect more of Him.

Surrender and Discipleship with Beth Guckenberger

Millions of Christians all over the world say the word amen everyday yet few realize what richness, depth, truth, and connection are packed into the sacred phrase. In her book and in this breakout, Beth will show how the phrase “amen” is more than just a way to punctuate a conversation with the God of the universe. Amen is a declaration of who God is and who we are in relation to Him. Through touching personal stories and solid Bible teaching Beth unlocks a key spiritual secret to a mature life of faith most Christians have only dreamed of.
